Créé par l’ancienne rédaction des revues XXI et 6Mois, leurs partenaires et les habitants, Les Ateliers de Couthures était un festival de journalisme vivant, celui du goût pour le réel, à Couthures-sur-Garonne, en Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Durant trois jours, une centaine d’intervenants (journalistes, témoins, chercheurs, photographes ou autres bâtisseurs) se réunissaient pour parler du monde en mouvement, pour raconter des histoires vraies. Parmi eux, Lionel Astruc, Fabrice Arfi, Irène Frachon, Tomas van Houtryve, Tobie Nathan, Scholastique Mukasonga, Abbas, Alice Diop, Art Spiegelman, Live Magazine, Hippolyte, Arte Radio, Alice Géraud, Julien Pebrel, Olivier Jobard…
Sur une cale au bord de la Garonne, au milieu de la place publique ou dans l’église du village, ce festival proposait ces histoires sous plusieurs formes narratives, comme des expositions, des écoutes, un studio de photos de famille, des ateliers de création, mais aussi du théâtre, du cinéma, des lectures, des concerts…

Created by the former editorial staff of the French magazines XXI and 6Mois, their partners and the inhabitants, Les Ateliers de Couthures was a festival of journalism of the living, that of a taste for reality, in Couthures-sur-Garonne, New-Aquitaine (France).
For three days, about a hundred speakers (journalists, witnesses, researchers, photographers or other builders) gathered to talk about the world in motion, to tell true stories. On a slipway on the banks of the Garonne, in the middle of the public square or in the village church, this festival offered these stories in several narrative forms, such as exhibitions, sound listening, a family photo studio, creative workshops, but also theater, cinema, readings, concerts…
